Kings Park makes quick work of Laundromat fire

The Kings Park Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a building fire at 141 Main Street. Units arrive to find the building filling with smoke. Assistant Chief Clark has the alarm re-transmitted, orders a line into the building and had the 2nd due engine pick up a hydrant. The fire was quickly located in a dryer and the duct work for same. The hand line was charged and the fire was quickly extinguished. Fans were setup to vent the building while crews overhauled.  The FD operated at the scene for approximately 40 minutes. A Fire Marshal from the Town of Smithtown Department of Public Safety was called to the scene to handle the investigation.
